The International Detailing Association (IDA) had its beginnings with the formation of the Professional Detailing Association (PDA) in 1989. At that time a group of detail industry suppliers got together in Rosemont, Illinois to discuss the feasibility of forming a detail industry association.

The purpose of this association is to serve and promote the interests of the detail industry; to serve as a rallying point for collection action by individual operators and regional chapters of detail business owners on problems affecting the industry; and to do whatever is necessary, proper, and legitimate for the common good and welfare of the detail industry.

Indian Franchise Association (IFA) was founded at New Delhi, as a Corporate Social Responsibility initiative by Mr Gaurav Marya, Chairman-Indian Franchise Association to share information, knowledge and experiences, set standards and promote best practices in franchising. Colonel (Retd) Upendra Sachdev as the Executive Director, Indian Franchise Association strives to meet the vision and maintain their ethos of caution, advice, and research and evolve amongst the franchise fraternity.
